Is there some way to get to SACs if I don't drive?  Isanti County Heartland Express (763-689-8131) provides rides to SACs. A donation of $.75 each way is suggested for this service.
Who do I contact if I want to volunteer?  Call the SACs phone number listed above.  Please leave a brief message with your phone number and the reason for your call if no one answers.
Do you need donations and if so, what?  Yes.  New and very gently used items to sell in our Gift Shoppe or as bingo prizes are needed and always appreciated.  We are also grateful for donations of money which are used 100% to support our programs and activities for area seniors.  As a 501.c(3) non-profit organization your contribution may be tax deductible
How does the Commission receive funding?  SACs on Third (the building) is provided by the City of Cambridge.  The operating budget is funded by the Isanti County Commissioners, fund raising activities and donations.
Can I get a meal to go?  Frozen meals are available to purchase to go.  We cannot provide hot meals to go.  Hot meals are available through the local Meals on Wheels program from the Cambridge Medical Center.
How old do I have to be to use SACs services?  Discounted meals (currently $3.50) are available to people 60 years of age and older and their spouses.  Regularly priced meals (currently $7.00) and all other activities and programs are available to everyone regardless of their age.
What services are provided by SACs?  Lunch Monday through Friday with special programs and entertainment for holiday lunches.  Friday community breakfast.  Social Days with Bingo, Scrabble, Dominoes, Cards, Needle Work, Scrapbooking.  Nutritional and health education.  Monthly Book Club.  Diabetes and Alzheimer's support groups.  Blood pressure check.  Shopping Trips.  Annual Block Party and Isanti County Seniors Christmas Party.  When enough interest is shown, meetings on women's issues, and travel and leisure; participation in an entertainment troupe; Senior Singles activities.  We are always open to suggestions for adding to the services we offer.
Who/What is SACs?  SACs is the Senior Activity Center seniors.  SACs provides a site for cooking and serving the noon meals provided through the Central Minnesota Council on Aging as part of the Older Americans Act and administered by Catholic Charities of the Diocese of St. Cloud.  Also very important, SACs other services and activities are provided with the goal of encouraging fellowship and friendship and an active lifestyle for all area seniors.
